Decision template

Authoring resource. Copy a template into the appropriate collection and replace its prompts.

Copy this file to docs/decisions/. Set an unused ADR-NNN ID, write a clear title, change the collection to decisions, and enter the date. Start as proposed. See creating a document and statuses.

Why a decision is needed​

Explain the problem and the limits the choice must respect. Link related requirements and note any open questions.

Options​

Describe the options considered and the useful or difficult parts of each.

Choice​

State the choice and why it fits. For an accepted decision, say who agreed to it and where that agreement was recorded. If you are describing an older decision and do not know the reason, say so.

What follows​

Explain the benefits, costs, and work this choice creates. Link the handbook page that explains how it works today. Say which expected results still need to be checked.
